Setting up your new email account settings in Outlook Express.

Start Outlook Express, then...

Account Setup

Select Accounts from the Tools Menu.

 

Internet Accounts Setup

Click the Mail Tab

Click the Add button and select Mail.

 

 

Your Name & Details

Enter the details you want displayed when people receive and email from you into the Display name area.

e.g.  Fred Smith - Acme Product Company

Click the Next button

 

Internet Email Address

 Enter your full email address in the E-mail address area.

 

e.g. fredsmith@acme.com.au

 Click the Next button.

 

 

 

 

Email Server Names

 Enter your incoming mail server address from the details supplied to you, into the Incoming mail (POP3) area.

Normally... mail.yourdomain.com.au
where your domain is the name you have registered for your website.

 Enter your Outgoing mail server address into the Outgoing mail (SMTP) area.

e.g. mail.netspace.net.au
or mail.bigpond.com.au

Your Internet Service provider can confirm your SMTP settings.. if all else fails.. try using the same name as your POP3 Incoming mail server - e.g. mail.yourdomain.com.au

Click the Next button

 

Internet Mail Login

Enter your full email address into the Account name area.

e.g. fredsmith@acme.com.au

* Ensure you use lowercase letters.

Enter your password from the details supplied to you into the Password area.

Click the Next button

 

Finished

Click Finish.

You are now setup and ready to receive emails.

Don't forget you can also view your online mailbox at..

yourdomain.com.au/webmail

e.g. www.acme.com.au/webmail

enter your full email address as the username
